Why Does My WordPress Page Say Archive?

WordPress pages that say “Archive” indicate that the page has been archived by the WordPress administration. This is because WordPress automatically archives pages when it detects that the site is being updated or when the administrator sets a schedule for archiving. The archive page is automatically generated and contains the following information:

The date and time the page was archived

The URL of the archived page

The name of the administrator who archived the page

The page’s status, which can be one of the following:

Active: The page is currently being edited or displayed

The page is currently being edited or displayed Archived: The page is no longer being edited or displayed, but may be available for viewing in the future

The page is no longer being edited or displayed, but may be available for viewing in the future Deleted: The page has been deleted

There is no way to access archived pages. If you need to view an archived page, you must re-access the site and access the archive page from there.

Archived pages are maintained for a set amount of time, which is determined by the administrator who archived the page. After the set amount of time has elapsed, the archived page is automatically deleted.

WordPress does not automatically archive pages if the site is being updated. If you need to archive a page for any reason other than being updated, you must do so using the WordPress administration interface.
