Where Do You Configure Global Settings for Comments on Your WordPress Site?

The first step in configuring global comments settings on your WordPress site is to create a custom post type. To do this, open the Custom Post Types settings page in your WordPress admin area and click on the Add New Custom Post Type button.

In the Name field, type “Comments.” In the Taxonomies field, select the appropriate taxonomy for comments.

In the Slug field, type “comments.” Click on the Save button.

Now that we have created our custom post type, the next step is to configure the global comments settings for this post type. To do this, open the Comments settings page in your WordPress admin area and click on the edit link next to the Comments post type.

In the Comment settings page, you will want to configure the following settings:

3. Show comments by category

4. Enable pingbacks

5. Enable trackbacks

6. Enable threaded comments

7. Enable WordPress comments

8. Enable Disqus comments

9. Enable Facebook comments

10. Enable Google+ comments

13. Enable Reddit comments

14. Enable StumbleUpon comments

15. Enable Delicious comments

16. Enable digg comments

18. Enable WebLogic comments

54. Enable the comments per page setting to 100

55. Click on the Save button.

When you have finished configuring the comments settings for your post type, click on the Publish button to publish your post and apply these settings to all the comments submitted to this post type.

Finally, when you want to disable global comments for a post or category, you can do so by clicking on the Disable comments button next to the comments field in the post or category settings page, as shown in the screenshot below.

When you disable comments for a post or category, comments will no longer be displayed on this post or category. However, comments will still be displayed on any posts or categories that have comments enabled for this post or category.
