What Is a Menu Anchor in WordPress?

An anchor in WordPress is a special type of link that helps you easily navigate your website’s menu. When you add an anchor to a menu item, WordPress automatically creates a link to that menu item on the page where you placed the anchor.

Anchors are especially useful on pages with menus that are nested beneath other pages. If you want to link to a menu item on the page beneath the anchor, just add a parentheses followed by the page name (for example, (subpage)menu-item).

WordPress will automatically create a link to the menu item on the subpage.

If you want to link to a menu item on the same page as the anchor, just add a colon (:) followed by the page name. WordPress will create a link to the menu item on the same page as the anchor.

The great thing about anchors is that you can add as many as you want. You can even add anchors to individual paragraphs in your content.

This means that you can easily link to any menu item in your content.

If you want to remove an anchor from a menu item, just place a hash ( # ) character before the page name. WordPress will ignore the anchor and create a link to the menu item without it.

So, if you need to add or remove links from your menu easily, use anchors!.
