What Is a Post ID in WordPress?

A post ID is a unique identifier for a WordPress post. This number is used internally by WordPress to identify a post, for example when performing data operations, sending messages, or retrieving posts.

When you create a new post, WordPress assigns you a post ID. You can also find the post ID of a post by clicking the “Posts” menu item in the WordPress admin area, and then selecting “All Posts”.

The post ID is displayed in the “Post ID” field.

You can also use the “Post ID” field to insert a post ID into a post editor. For example, if you want to insert the post ID of a post that you’ve already created into a post, you can use the “Post ID” field to enter the post ID.
