How Do You Call a Featured Image in WordPress?

Featured images are a great way to show off your blog’s content and give your readers a quick glance at what they can expect when they click through to your blog. There are a few different ways to call a featured image in WordPress, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

1. Use the Featured Image Shortcode

The Featured Image Shortcode is the simplest way to call a featured image on your blog. All you need to do is insert the code [featured_image] into your post or page, and WordPress will take care of creating an image and inserting it into your post or page.

One downside of using the Featured Image Shortcode is that you can only use one featured image per post or page. If you want to use a different featured image for each post or page, you’ll need to use the [featured_image] shortcode multiple times.

2. Use the Media Library

If you want to use more than one featured image on your blog, you can use the Media Library. To access the Media Library, click on the Media tab on the WordPress Admin sidebar, and then click on the Images icon.

Once you’ve opened the Images tab, you can drag and drop any images you want into the Media Library. You can also use the Media Library to create custom featured images for your blog posts and pages.

One downside of using the Media Library is that you can only use one featured image per post or page.

3. Use the WordPress Customizer

If you want to use a different featured image for each post or page, you can use the WordPress Customizer. To access the WordPress Customizer, click on the Appearance tab on the WordPress Admin sidebar, and then click on the Customize button.

Once you’ve clicked on the Customize button, you’ll be presented with the Customizer page. On the Customizer page, you can select the Post Type or Page Type from the dropdown menu, and then select the Featured Image option from the Featured Images section.

You can then enter the URL of the image you want to use, and WordPress will automatically insert the image into your post or page.

One downside of using the WordPress Customizer is that you can only use one featured image per post or page.
