How Do I Edit the WordPress Admin Toolbar?

Since WordPress 4.5, the WordPress Admin Toolbar has been a one-stop shop for managing your site’s settings and content.

Unfortunately, it can be a bit difficult to navigate, especially if you’re not familiar with the WordPress interface. If you want to make changes to the toolbar, here’s how:.

1. Open the WordPress Admin area on your site.

2. Click on the “Toolbar” link in the top left corner of the screen.

3. Click on the “Customize” link in the top right corner of the screen.

4. On the “Toolbar Options” page, you’ll find the “Admin Toolbar” section.

Here, you can change the appearance and function of the toolbar.

5. To change the appearance of the toolbar, click on the “Layout” tab.

This tab lets you choose between a standard toolbar layout or a more compact “Compact” layout.

6. To change the function of the toolbar, click on the “Toolbar” tab.

This tab lets you add, remove, and rearrange the toolbar buttons.

7. To add a new toolbar button, click on the “Add New” button.

This button lets you create a new toolbar button or select an existing toolbar button to customize.

8. To remove a toolbar button, click on the “Remove” button.

This button lets you remove a toolbar button from the toolbar or select a specific category of buttons to remove.

9. To rearrange the buttons on the toolbar, click on the “ rearrange” button.

This button lets you move toolbar buttons between different categories or positions on the toolbar.

10. To save your changes, click on the “Save” button.

This button saves your changes to the WordPress Admin area and closes the “Toolbar Options” page.
