Can You Temporarily Deactivate WordPress Site?

If you are having trouble using WordPress, or if you just want to take a break from it, you can temporarily disable it. To do this, log in to your WordPress site and click the Administration menu item. Then, click the Site Settings option. In the Site Settings window, click the Maintenance tab. In the Maintenance tab window, click the Deactivate WordPress Site button. WordPress will then prompt you to confirm that you want to disable the site. Click the Disable button to finish.

When you are ready to reactivate the site, click the Activate WordPress Site button. WordPress will then prompt you to enter your login information. Click the Login button to finish. WordPress will then attempt to re-activate the site. If it is successful, the site will be online and you will be able to access it. If it is not successful, WordPress will provide you with information about the problem and what you can do to resolve it.
