What Is the Page Order in WordPress?

WordPress, like many other content management systems (CMS), uses a page order to control the display of pages on a website. Pages are displayed in the order in which they were created, with the most recent page at the top of the page order.

When you create a new WordPress page, the WordPress page order is automatically set to the default order. You can change the order by using the Page Order widget in the WordPress admin area.

The Page Order widget lets you rearrange pages in the order that you want them to appear on your website.

You can also change the order of pages by using the WordPress post editor. To change the order of a post, select the post in the WordPress post editor, and click the Pages link in the post’s toolbar.

The post’s Pages list displays, showing the order in which the post’s content appears on the website.
