What Is a WordPress Page ID?

A WordPress page ID is a unique identifier assigned to each page on a WordPress site. It’s important because it allows WordPress to track the activity on each page and make sure that pages are being accessed and updated as expected.

When you create a new WordPress page, WordPress assigns you a page ID. You can see your page ID in the page’s URL (the string at the end of your site’s address).

Once you’ve created a page, you can use the page ID to track its activity. For example, you can use the page ID to see which posts have been added to the page, to see which posts have been favorited, or to see which posts have been commented on.

WordPress also uses the page ID to keep track of which pages are being used most often. As a result, WordPress will try to load pages with a page ID that’s close to the number of pages that have been viewed recently.
