What Is a Tag Page in WordPress?

Tag pages are a great way to organize your posts and make it easier for you and your readers to find the information they’re looking for. When you create a tag page, WordPress inserts a tag index at the top of your post list, so all your posts tagged with that tag are listed together.

You can also use tag pages to track the progress of a project, or to highlight a certain topic. Finally, tag pages can also be a great way to showcase your blog’s content to other websites.

When you create a tag page, you first need to decide on a tag. WordPress automatically searches for tags when you create a tag page, but you can also add tags manually.

Once you’ve chosen a tag, you can add posts to the tag page either by manually adding the post’s URL or by using the WordPress post editor to drag and drop the post into the tag page.

When you create a tag page, WordPress also creates a category for the tag. This category is used to group posts together on the tag page, and it’s also used as the tag’s slug on the front-end of the WordPress site.

You can change the category name if you want, but it’s typically best to leave it as is.

When you’re finished adding posts to the tag page, you can either click the Publish button to publish the tag page and add it to your blog’s index, or you can click the Edit button to make any changes to the tag page.

Finally, when you’re ready to delete a tag page or category, just click the Delete button.
