What Are Post Formats in WordPress?

Post formats are a way to group posts together in WordPress. They are useful for organizing posts, as well as for printing or exporting posts as a batch.

To create a new post format, go to the Posts menu in your WordPress admin area, and click on the “Post Format” button. This will open the Post Format Settings screen.

The first column on this screen is the name of the format. The next four columns are for setting the format’s properties.

The third column is for setting the post’s content types. The fourth column is for setting the post’s meta data.

To add a new post to a format, simply enter the format’s name in the post’s title field, and specify the post’s content in the post’s content field. You can also add custom meta data to your post by entering it in the meta data field.

To edit an existing post in a format, go to the post’s detail page (click on the post’s name in the Posts menu in your WordPress admin area), and click on the “Format” button. This will open the Format Settings screen.

To change an existing post’s format, simply enter the format’s name in the post’s title field, and specify the post’s content in the post’s content field. You can also change the post’s format’s properties by clicking on the “Format” button next to the format’s name on the post’s detail page.

To delete an existing post in a format, go to the post’s detail page (click on the post’s name in the Posts menu in your WordPress admin area), and click on the “Delete” button. This will open the Delete Post dialog box.

In the Delete Post dialog box, enter the format’s name in the “Format” field, and click on the “Delete” button.

Finally, to export all the posts in your WordPress blog as a batch, go to the Posts menu in your WordPress admin area, and click on the “Export Posts” button. This will open the Export Posts dialog box.

In the Export Posts dialog box, enter the format’s name in the “Format” field, and click on the “Export” button. This will export all the posts in your WordPress blog as a batch in the format you specified.

The format of a post is determined by the format settings you set on the Post Format Settings screen. The format of an exported post is the same as the format of the posts in your blog, except that the posts will be exported as a batch instead of individually.
