How Does Page Break Work in WordPress?

Page break works by inserting a new page every time a post is published. The WordPress post editor inserts a new page break after every 500 words.

This way, every post has a unique page number.

When you click on a post in the WordPress posts list, the post editor opens the post in a new window. If you’re viewing the posts in a blog style layout, the editor opens the post in a new browser window.

If you’re viewing the posts in a standard list format, the editor opens the post in the same window that you’re viewing the posts in.

If you’re viewing the posts in a grid style layout, the editor opens the post in a new browser window that’s centered on the grid.

The editor inserts a new page break after every 500 words.

If you want to change the page break settings for a post, go to the post’s settings and under “Page Breaks” on the right, change the setting to “None.”.
