How Do I Move a WordPress Multisite to a Single Site?

Moving a WordPress Multisite to a Single Site

When you move a WordPress Multisite to a Single Site, you are essentially migrating all the content and settings from the Multisite network to your new Single Site. This process can take a few hours, but is relatively easy to do.

1. First, login to the Single Site and go to Settings > Network.

2. In the Network Settings page, you will see the Multisite network listed.

Click on it to open the Multisite Settings page.

3. On the Multisite Settings page, you will see a number of sections.

The most important section is the General Settings section. In this section, you will need to click on the “Migrate” button.

4. On the Migration page, you will be asked to select a migration type.

The two options are “Copy” and “Migrate All Files”. The Copy option willonly copy the content and settings from the Multisite network to your Single Site, while the “Migrate All Files” option will copy the entire WordPress Multisite network to your Single Site.

5. The next step is to choose a destination for the migrated content.

The Multisite network will have a number of sub-sites listed. You can select any of these sub-sites to be the destination for the migrated content.

6. After you have selected a destination sub-site, you will be asked to choose a migration period.

The default migration period is 7 days. However, you can choose a longer or shorter period if you wish.

7. After you have selected all the relevant parameters, click on the “Migrate” button.

8. The migration process will start and will take a few minutes to complete.

When it is done, you will be able to see the migrated content on the Single Site.

9. If you wish, you can then delete the Multisite network from the Single Site.
