How Do I Change the Default Media Upload Location in WordPress?

In WordPress, there are two main ways to change the default media upload location: through the Settings->Media panel, and through the wp-admin -> Media section.

The Settings->Media panel lets you specify a new media upload location for your blog posts and media files, as well as manage your media files and posts. To change the default media upload location in WordPress, open the Settings->Media panel, and click on the Media tab. Under the Upload Media Location heading, you will see the following options:

You can click on the Change link next to the Default Media Upload Location field to open the Media Manager dialog box. In this dialog box, you can specify a different media upload location for your blog posts and media files.

To revert the blog back to the default media upload location, click on the Default Media Upload Location field, and then click on the Revert button.

The Media Manager dialog box also lets you manage your media files and posts. You can drag and drop media files into the Media Manager dialog box to add them to your blog posts and media files.

You can also right-click on a media file and select Add to Post or Add to Media File to add the media file to your blog post or media file, respectively.

To revert the blog back to the default media upload location, click on the Default Media Upload Location field, and then click on the Revert button.
