How Do I Change File Permissions in WordPress?

By default, all files and folders in a WordPress installation are assigned the permissions of 750 (read/write/execute). This is adequate for most situations, but it can be modified if necessary.

To change file permissions in WordPress:

1. Log into your WordPress site.

2. Go to the “Admin” menu and select “Settings”.

3. In the “Settings” screen, click on the “files” tab.

4. On the “files” screen, you will see a list of all the files and folders on your site.

5. To change the permissions of a file or folder, select it and click on the “Permissions” button.

6. In the “Permissions” screen, you will see a list of the permissions associated with the file or folder.

7. To change the permissions of a file or folder, select the desired permissions and click on the “OK” button.

8. The new permissions will be displayed in the “Permissions” screen and will take effect immediately.
