How Do I Add a Search Bar to the Primary Menu in WordPress?

Adding a search bar to the primary menu in WordPress is a relatively easy process. First, you will need to install the Yoast SEO plugin.

Once Yoast is installed, open up the plugin’s Settings screen and under the “Menu” tab, click on the “Add a new menu item” button.

In the “New menu item” dialog box, type “Search” into the “Name” field and then click on the “Add” button. In the “Menu Item Settings” screen that opens, enter the following information into the “Title” field:

“Search the site”

“Search the blog”

“Search the content”

“Search the comments”

“Search the posts”

“Search the terms”

“Search the categories”

“Search the tags”

“Search the posts by topic”

“Search the posts by author”

“Search the posts by date”

“Search the posts by category”

“Search the posts by tag”

“Search the posts by author by date”

“Search the posts by category by date”

“Search the tags by date”

“Search the posts by tag by date”

Click on the “OK” button to save the changes.

Now, on the main WordPress Homepage, click on the “Menu” link and then click on the “Primary Menu” item. In the “Primary Menu” screen that opens, click on the “Search” link to open the search bar.
