How Do I Add a Custom Category Filter in WordPress?

Adding a custom category filter in WordPress is easy. To do so, first add a new category in WordPress.

Then, open the category’s settings page and click the “Filters” tab. Under the “Category” heading, click the “Add a new filter” button.

In the “Filter Name” text field, type the name of the custom category filter you want to add. In the “Filter Type” dropdown menu, select “Checkboxes.”

Next, in the “Category(s)” text field, type the category name(s) you want to filter. In the “Include” text field, type the text you want to include in the filter.

In the “Exclude” text field, type the text you want to exclude from the filter.

Click the “Save” button to save the filter.

Now, when you publish a post to the custom category, WordPress will check the posts in that category for the filter you defined. If the post matches the filter criteria, WordPress will include the post in the post feed and display the post’s excerpt in the post’s details section.

If the post does not match the filter criteria, WordPress will not include the post in the post feed or display the post’s excerpt in the post’s details section.
