Can You Switch Themes in WordPress?

Theme switching in WordPress is one of the most popular features on the platform. There are many reasons why people might want to switch themes. Maybe you have a new site and want to change the look and feel.

Maybe you are unhappy with the current theme and want to try something new. Or maybe you just want to experiment with different design ideas.

There are two main ways to switch themes in WordPress: via the Themes panel and via the WordPress admin.

Themes panel

To switch themes in the Themes panel, click on the Themes tab in the WordPress admin and select the theme you want to use. The theme will be displayed in the Themes panel on the left side of the screen.

To change the theme’s colors, fonts, and layout, click on the Theme Options button ( ). The Theme Options window will open.

The Theme Options window contains several tabs: General, Colors, Fonts, and Layout.

General tab

The General tab contains several settings that affect the entire theme. You can change the theme’s name, description, and author.

Description tab

The Description tab contains a brief description of the theme. This information is displayed in the Theme Options window and on the theme’s home page.

Author tab

The Author tab contains the name of the theme author.

Colors tab

The Colors tab contains a list of colors that can be used in the theme. You can drag and drop colors from the Colors tab into the theme’s header or footer.

Fonts tab

The Fonts tab contains a list of fonts that can be used in the theme. You can drag and drop fonts from the Fonts tab into the theme’s header or footer.

Layout tab

The Layout tab contains a list of layout options. You can change the theme’s layout on the fly by clicking on the different elements in the Layout tab.
