Can You Copy a Post in WordPress?

Copying a post in WordPress is a twofold process. You must first identify the post you want to copy, and then you must copy the post’s content into a new post.

Identifying the Post You Want to Copy

To identify the post you want to copy, you first need to locate the post in the WordPress blog’s front-end interface. The easiest way to do this is to locate the post’s URL (the address that appears in the address bar of your web browser). The URL for a post’s main body content is typically the following format:

http://example.com/blog/post/title

For example, the URL for the post “Copy Post to New Post” is the following:

http://example.com/blog/copy-post-to-new-post/

Copy the Post’s Content into a New Post

Once you have located the post you want to copy, you can copy its content into a new post by following these steps:

1. Locate the post’s content in the WordPress blog’s front-end interface.

2. Click the “Text” link to the right of the post’s title to open the post’s content in a new browser window.

3. Copy the post’s content into a new post in WordPress.

4. Click the “Publish” button to publish the new post.

5. Congratulations! You have copied a post in WordPress.
